USS LEXINGTON

Stopped off in Corpus Christi for a couple of days and spent an afternoon on the aircraft carrier, USS Lexington. Took us about four hours for the quick tour.

Pepe's On The River

Went to Pepe's, on the Rio Grande River, in Mission, Texas, Saturday afternoon. Great place, live music, food, drinks, life is good. Go during the day because everyone is home by 7:00P.M.

Food is good. But we ran out of dressing after one day of leftovers.

Pizza Night

Time for pizza. Jan is the cook. Making a double batch of dough for a couple of pies. Jim and Cheryl are over and Cheryl is half stepping with pop tonight. The rest of us however are drinking responsibly. The pizza was delicious and the beer was cold.

Bay Fishing at South Padre Island

Sunday, Nov. 19

We had to set our alarm clock this morning for 5:00a.m. Drove over to South Padre for a morning of fishing. We all caught fish, but Jan and Jim got the only ones good to eat. There is a county RV Park located on the tip of the island that looks promising for a future trip. The shrimp boats were coming back into port while we were fishing so we noticed a few of them. Any way we had a total of four fish, two whitings and two sea trout, the deck hand cleaned them for two bucks and we took them home and had fish for dinner.

Took a ride to Brownsville, Texas today. Girls wanted to go to Mexico, so Jim and I went along and found a cantina to sit and wait. After heading back we had lunch in the one and only bar in downtown Brownsville. Neet little place, beer was only $1.50. Heading home we spotted this little bar alongside the road and stopped for one. We are doing our best to check out all the bars we can, but I think there are more than we can handle. Oh well we'll try!

Starting our travels in 2006 in San Antonio, Texas. This photo was taken along the riverwalk. From here we toured the Alamo and did some golfing at one of the local courses. Next stop Mercedes, Texas for a month.
